This blog is focused on the descendants of John O'Neill and Esther Ashmore of County Carlow, Ireland.
The majority of the descendants will be from Hugh O'Neill and Deborah Joyce, who left Ireland, ca 1805, and settled in what is now Noble County, Ohio.

3. Carlow: Boat on the River Barrow
I took this photo of a riverboat at Leighlinbridge, Carlow, in 2000. The O'Neill family probably rode a similar boat down the Barrow to Waterford and then a coastal packet to Cork for the trip to New York.
